About

LOOK
CLOSER

Bug Lover is about insects, yes. It is also about the worlds around them: fungi, decay, bark, roots, antlers, lichens, seed pods, bones, weather, and all the overlooked machinery of a living place.

The idea

A cabinet of overlooked things.

It should feel less like a publication and more like a field journal you found tucked under a log. Beautiful, specific, a little weathered, and clearly loved.

No bright kid-science palette. No fake gothic theater. No template energy. Just the strange intelligence of the forest floor.

Field principles

Do not kill first and identify later.

Leave the weird cocoon alone unless there is a genuinely good reason not to.

Native plants are infrastructure.

A porch light is basically a nightclub.

Spiders are honorary bugs for conversational purposes.

Photograph first. Become obsessed by Thursday.

Some things are worth building simply because one particular person would understand them.
